Man Loses Over Quarter Of Million Playing Slots

Earlier this year, Stephen Milne won an incredibly large sum of money over at Dream Bingo. Having lost his job a few days earlier, Milne decided to place a £3 bet on the Major Millions slot and won a total of £265,000. Everything hasn’t gone entirely smoothly for the lucky winner though as he has already spent his winnings, which he received back in March.

Trying To Win More

According to multiple sources, Milne lost his fortune attempting to win even more money. Having spent £2,000 on a holiday, lending £10,000 to family and buying £7,000 cars for his parents and sister, Milne continued to gamble the rest of his money away. Man Loses Over Quarter Of Million Playing Slots

Who Is Responsible?

Milne, who won the initial fortune under the username millo68, spoke to the Mirror earlier this month. During the interview he cautioned other players and insinuated that Ted Bingo was to blame for his losses. A total of £150,000 was spent on Ted Bingo machines, whilst another £100,000 was spent on various other online casinos. Milne told the Mirror that Ted Bingo sent him multiple emails on a regular basis encouraging him to play. In August, Stephen had £65,684 in the bank but over the coming month there was a rapid spending spree: £48,132 on 1st September £26,037 on 8th September £15,245 on 15th September £8,100 on 22nd September £6,6340 on 29th September Man Loses Over Quarter Of Million Playing Slots

Did The Bingo Site Fail Their Customer?

By September, Milne had £6,340 left of his winnings and Ted Bingo finally looked into how much he was spending on his account. The bank also started to send Milne letters requesting payment after he went into the red. Though we are all responsible for our own actions, it does appear that Ted Bingo has failed their customer. With such a high level of spending taking place on Milne’s account, someone over at Ted Bingo should have been alerted to some sort of problem. The site has responded, stating: “we operate responsible gambling policies and procedures”, but this is questionable considering the situation.
